You can increase your tire’s longevity by maintaining the correct air pressure, performing regular tire rotations and vehicle maintenance. For original equipment: follow the vehicle manufacturer’s tire replacement recommendations. A few milestones and tips:

Tire Rotation
The type of vehicle and the tires installed effect how your tires are rotated. Tire rotation increases the life of your tires by allowing each tire to wear equally overtime. It is an advantage when all four tires wear together because as wear reduces a tire’s tread depth, it allows all four tires to respond to the driver’s input more quickly, maintains the handling and helps increase the tire’s traction.
Tire Selection
It is wonderful to have tires that look great, but it doesn’t matter how great the tires look if they are not right for your vehicle. Tires that are too big or too small can actually do damage to your vehicle, and can absolutely kill your gas mileage. For that reason, tire selection is extremely important to the life span and performance of your vehicle. If your tire pressure is too low or too high, you can hurt your vehicle’s performance. Not only that, improperly inflated tires can be very, very dangerous.
